Like For Like Refrigeration Project, Waitrose Ponteland

Client: CTS Shopfitting
Location: Ponteland
Value: £400,000
Programme: 9 weeks

Following 3 successful like for like refrigeration projects for Waitrose at Allington Park, Sandbach and Bury St Edmunds; MJ Electrical Services were pleased to have been involved in a further like for like project at Waitrose Ponteland alongside CTS Shopfitting.Waitrose is part of the employee owned John Lewis Partnership. The Partnership aims to be net zero carbon across its entire operation by 2035. To help with this commitment, Waitrose are replacing their current systems to water cooled refrigeration systems. As a result Waitrose will achieve massive reductions in energy consumption and GHG emissions from refrigeration.

We successfully installed new chilled water plant supplies and a new heat pump system, located on the roof of the building. New access was installed by CTS to the roof of the building where we installed new emergency lighting detection. A new control panel was also installed in the 1st floor plant room. All wiring from the panel to all services was installed including to the dry air coolers located on the roof. Other work on this project included alterations to the fire alarm, reconfiguration of the public address system as well as additional data and power for self-scan checkouts.
