Energy Saving LED Lighting Programme, Various John Lewis Stores

Client: John Lewis Partnership
Location: Various John Lewis stores – Nationwide
Programme: 3 year programme

MJ Electrical Services undertook an energy saving initiative in various John Lewis stores across England & Scotland. The project involved replacing the conventional lighting at the various John Lewis stores to the latest generation in LED lighting. The large refurbishments spanned across the basements, ground floors and the first, second and third floors of the stores in the framework. The refurbishments also included all back of house areas of the stores.

The LED lighting upgrade helped the John Lewis Partnership save money on energy while also improving light levels and giving a more up-to-date look and feel to each of the stores.

MJ Electrical Services created a new lighting design for each store and completed energy saving cost calculations for the Partnership. We calculated that the average project payback period on this project to be 4 years for each branch with the new LED lighting having an expected life span of 10-15 years.
